England and Arsenal keeper David Seaman has backed Richard Wright to be his successor at international level. Wright has so far made one appearance for the full team in the eventful Malta match last summer. Since then David James seems to have nipped ahead of Wright in the pecking order but Seaman seems in no doubt that Wright is a quality keeper. |

Marcus Stewart has not been included in Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad for the friendly with Mexico. The striker was thought to be the most likely Town player to be involved with Richard Wright off for an operation tomorrow. |

Another last day of the season decider and again other sides failed to do Town a favour. As with Wolves and Blackburn on the last day of the last two seasons both Charlton and Leicester failed to take points from Liverpool and Leeds. Unlike on those occasions Town failed to fulfil their side of the bargain, only managing a draw with Derby. |

Marcus Stewart last night failed to emulate John Wark as a PFA Award winner when Teddy Sheringham carried off the prize. Stewart failed even to make the divisional XI with Thierry Henry and Sheringham the chosen strikers. Wark won the award in 1981, the last time a Town player was nominated. |

Richard Wright will be back in training tomorrow, but George Burley insists he will not be pushed too quickly. The Town keeper missed out against Coventry with a back injury, but has been improving all week. |

Jamie Clapham and Fabian Wilnis are both in the reserve squad for the game with Derby tonight. The pair have missed out on action recently, Wilnis due to an ankle injury and Clapham down to the good form of Martijn Reuser. |
